“European Romania – Trends in 2007”

The Romanian Academic Society annual conference – February 15, 2007

Starting with 2007, the Romanian Academic Society (SAR) is launching an annual debate on Romania’s development in the EU framework. This year conference, “European Romania – Trends in 2007”, is set to debate the post-integration strategies and priorities for the Romanian business environment and Government. The starting point of the discussions was SAR’s “Annual report and forecast – 2007”.
Four themes were under close scrutiny during the conference:
– Development discrepancies between different regions
– the role of education and research for the private sector and for the national development
– raising Romania’s business competitiveness after EU enlargement
– Romania’s gas and electricity sectors in an European context
Traian Basescu, the president of Romania will open the conference. We have invited government and parliamentarian authorities, independent analysts and a huge number of business people to address the debates.
