The conference, organized by SAR, the World Bank and the Ministry of European Integration, aimed to bring together government and knowledgeable national and EU experts to discuss how best to: (i) operationalize regional development and the territorial synergies with rural development and other SOPs; (ii) develop effective mechanisms for resource allocation that can filter funds down to local levels; and (iii) ensure a high quality pipeline of local projects.
These issues are increasingly important as Romania enters the phase of detailed programming of measures for 2007-20013, and managing authorities are designing detailed implementation arrangements and project selection criteria.
