The Romanian Academic Society mourns the death of one of the most important contemporary Romanian writers, Virgil Ierunca, who honored us with his membership from the very beginning of SAR.
After tens of years he proudly represented Romania in exile, Virgil Ierunca died in Paris. We feel we have lost not only a famous writer but also a close friend and a SAR menthor.
